Finished Game of Thrones I prefer the TV series to the book. After a while it was hard to get through Sansa and Dany chapters them two really annoyed me. Right now I'm close to finishing The Wind Through the Keyhole book 4.5 in the Dark Tower series. Starts off like Wizard and Glass where Roland tells a story of him in his youth but after 1/3 of the book Roland's youth self tells a story which the book gets its name from The Wind Through the Keyhole. ... I dunno, is it just me or are most of the film/TV-adaptations of medieval-fantasy literature superior to the actual novel(s)? I mean, when I first saw "The Lord of the Rings (Part 1)" in theater, I was not overly impressed - as I have never been a fantasy-enthusiast - but I was still like "Well, an OK film". When I read the book, however, I fell asleep (really!!!)... Your thoughts?? I think you have a point there when I first watched Lord of the Rings I fell in love with the movies. Bought the book with all three parts and gave up after idk 200 pages or so pretty boring. Tried again and got through all of it (didn't want book to end) felt more appreciative for slow beginning.

Also right now I'm reading George Orwell's Homage To Catalonia. Tells of his experience in the Spanish Civil War. Conditions he fought in and thoughts on the political situation.

Frank Herbert's 'Dune',
I tried reading this almost 6 or 7 years ago when I was 15, but couldn't get into it enough. But now as an Adult I find it to be an immersive and incredibly authentic and unparalleled work of science fiction. Theres just always times for me to go back and continue because it becomes more facinating the further you go in.

The Tarantula Keeper's Guide. Great book. No wonder they call it " The Bible of Arachnoculture."

'Dune' is a phantastic piece of literature and it still stands out as the best entry in the series... truth to be told, it (the series) got progressively worse with each new novel... regarding the 'Prelude to Dune' and 'Legends of Dune' series... well... let's just pretend these never happened... AT ALL...

Shadow Country - Myth and murder of Florida Everglades outlaw Edgar J. Watson. I finished book 1 which first person narrative accounts from friends and family so far phenomenal book feels very American.
On the side I'm reading Wolves of the Calla book V in the Dark Tower series. I've read about 150 pages but not much has happened yet.

Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card, I'm enjoying this quite well although I think Card's writing style is too simplistic, but its easy to read.
Also
The Wheel of Time: The Eye of the World, An epic fantasy saga stretching many novels, this is my returning to the series having not completed a single book of the series yet but I know I will really get into this, just as much as my old high school friend has.

Finished Shadow Country very long book at 892 pages but well worth the read one of the best books I've ever read. I also recently read Roadside Picnic and right now I'm reading Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? I'm rather new to science fiction but it's quickly becoming my favorite of genres close behind fantasy.

Slowly going through John Lennon's Letters. Not really all that interesting but I'll read them all regardless over time.
