Does anyone read Stephen King's works? I think I have about 40 of his books, I'll have to count them again to get an exact figure. I have one entire bookshelf just dedicated to my King collection - I ain't read them all though...I must do though before I die. The Dark Tower series is amazing, I remember getting my brother and mate hooked it on at the same time years ago.

I have Everything's Eventual and I loved The Man In The Black Suit, was a real cool short story. I also have The Gunslinger and as much as I want to I get bored with it and just cant finish it. I have read It after seeing the Mini Series and the book was alot better. I tried reading Desperation but I got bored, common thing with me and Stephen King, dont get me wrong I think he is a brilliant author he's just too descriptive for me and it kinda ruins my imagination to be told everything in detail. That and his books tend to be good right up till the end where the climax turns to shit. I prefer Dean Koontz myself.

Just counted - I have exactly 40 Stephen King books, and then a graphic novel based on The Dark Tower. Yeah Everything's Eventual has some good tales in there. The Gunslinger novel is a little odd, it's short but does drag at times but if you can make it to book #2 you'll be hooked within 10 pages. I know what you mean though about King being too detailed, plus he goes off on tangents and I just think "What the fuck are you talking about man? Get back on track!" I like Dean Koontz too, I have 7 of his novels although I think I've only read 4 of them.

I'm a big fan of his novels. His movie adaptions typically aren't very good. However there are a few exceptions.

I've read four of his books 1-4 of the Dark Tower series and I love them. I have the rest 4.5-7 along with It, The Stand and The Eyes of the Dragon which I want to read. Just have a big pile of to-read books.

I recently finished a novel by King called From A Buick 8. It took me a long time to get through it. I'm talking over a year because I got bored and put it away until recently when I wanted to say I've read it all the way through. He has a sequel to The Shining out next year called Doctor Sleep. It's apparently about the little kid Danny. Hmmm.

Something I've always noticed; why does King feel the need to put a ridiculous amount of sex in his books? This is coming from a big fan of the author himself. I mean, was that gang-bang in the sewer in IT really necessary?

I have more Stephen King books than I'm able to count... I haven't read anywhere close to all of them yet. My favorite so far is The Stand.

King should not be allowed to direct ever again. And do I need to mention his acting? That said, he's a great author but he should probably stick to that.

I watched Thinner again tonight, forgot King has a small cameo in that. He makes me laugh just looking at him. What a legend. I would love to meet him in person.
