Recently bought the new Empire magazine. There is a monumental article on Arnold Schwarzenegger, starting way back in 1962. The article is huge, it chronicles his life, has breakdowns of some of his films and even comments from other action stars. If you've read it or intend to, please discuss. Also, can't wait to read his autobiography.

I saw it on the Empire website. I might pick it up, how much is the magazine these days, about £5 or something? Yeah Arnie's autobiography is out today. I want it right now but I'll wait a few weeks and get it as a birthday present.

Arnold has made some good movies many years ago. Ones like Commando, and Predator. But the ones that he is working on now are gonna be a disaster. You see him in interview nowadays and he just seems old, worn out, and half brain dead. Even in his prime he was a bad actor, who still made some good action movies. I just don't see what he brings to the table nowadays. This may upset people on this forum, but it's the truth.

I disagree about him being a bad actor. His role in the Terminator films, especially the first two, were excellent. I think he was perfectly cast in those films.

He did about as much acting in the Terminator movies as Brian Thompson did in Cobra. I don't want to make it sound like I hate Arnold, because I don't. He's just so far past being washed up, it's kind of sad to watch.

I have to have I disagree with him seeming old - he is old, he's just turned 65. Age should never come be a factor on judging a person in anything they do in life. The Last Stand which is out in January looks like it'll be a decent film plus it has a good supporting cast, it's a good vehicle for Arnie to ease his way back in slowly as the lead actor. His best work is most likely this '80's work ala Predator, Terminator, etc, but I think he can act better than people tend to give him credit for but he's never really given that role in a film and it's not what people want to see, they just want to see him destroy everyone in tongue in cheek glory. I think as he is older now he will pick roles which will relate to his age. Either way, I'm happy as Larry to see him back in films and in the public eye.

Maybe you just misinterpret what I'm saying. I'm not judging him on his personal life. I don't care about any actor/celebrities personal life. That's why I would never read his book. I'm just a movie fan judging his movies. If I think he's lost his mind and can't make a decent movie anymore, I don't see anything wrong with thinking that way. For example, Mel Gibson may be a fucking piece of shit asshole in his personal life, but he is one hell of an actor who can carry a movie. So I will continue to watch his movies. So if Arnold wants to try to still make action movies, good luck to him. I hope he proves me wrong. In my opinion, he was all done 10 years ago. On the other hand, you have Stallone who is 66 and he still makes good action movies. Like I've said in other threads on this forum, I really want him to make Rambo 5.

I can't think of the name of one of those new movies he's in but he's a cop or something fighting a drug cartel. It looks like a train wreck waiting to happen.

His book probably sucks. It's for the TMZ/celebrity gossip audience.

He did some of his own stunts in that film, and I'm sure that he was older than sixty five at the time. His book probably sucks. It's for the TMZ/celebrity gossip audience. If it goes into the illicit affairs he seems to have been having, then it probably will be

His book probably sucks. It's for the TMZ/celebrity gossip audience. Couldn't agree more, and probably littered with things during his political career like what happened with his mistress and secretly raising a kid all those years. Arnie is one of those bad actors that you have to just slow down to watch in amazement how bad he is, but still even as bad as he could be, he did have some good movies.
