Redd Inc. -6/10- Nice new concept on the people locked in a room torture porn horror, plus Fx from Tom Savini helps. Who knew Australia would actually have a good horror movie.

Mystery Train, I don't know much about Elvis nor has his legacy captured me enough. But this film by Jim Jarmusch (Down By Law, Stanger Than Paradise, Dead Man) is an entertaining and insightful look at american popular culture in the city of Memphis and had some great characters and comedy in Jarmuch's tradition. 8/10
Also, Con Air an exciting 90s Bruckbuster (Jerry Bruckheimer), daft but incredibly enjoyable, and seriously one of Nicolas Cage's best film roles. 7/10

The Ghost and the Darkness- I Netflixed the movies after reading about the Man-Eaters of Tsavo. The movie was okay but strayed too far from the actual events. The hunting scenes are unrealistic because Val Kilmer and Michael Douglas run around and make noise like idiots whenever they think the lions are near.

Watched that latest Underworld film the other night - man alive what a crock of shit that was. Really short, little story there, lame effects, boring and just uninteresting. Waste of my time. Machete - I watched The Ghost and the Darkness pretty recently for the first time, I enjoyed it overall, disappointed Douglas died.

Last movie watched in the cinema: the Hobbit in 3D HFR. One of the best movies I've seen in ages and one of the best looking movies ever made with the best effects work I have ever seen. This manages to be better than Lord of The Rings which is quite an achievement!
Last movie I actually did watch: Spartan, a film starring Shitcase Legend Val Kilmer, written and directed by David Mamet. Quite a good film actually. Definitely very unconventional as far as spy thrillers go.

Plan 9 From Outer Space.
Good Jesus, it's bad. I must have fallen asleep several times because nothing happens.

Beasts of the Southern Wild.
Believe what critics say about this film its excellent. A sort of real world based fable set in New Orleans aftermath of Hurracane Katrina. Follows a young girl's journey of survival and coming of age. 8/10

A few new movies I have seen over the past month..................
Django Unchained was awesome. One of the most entertaining movies I have seen in a long time.
Zero Dark Thirty was disappointing. I liked that it gives insight into capturing Bin Laden, but this is not in any way a great movie. If you take away the name Bin Laden, and if it was a movie about a fictional terrorist, you would be left with something that resembles a half assed Tony Scott movie, and it would not be getting award nominations, and it probably would not even get good reviews. I'm glad I watched it, but I'll probably never watch it again.
I also watched Lincoln. It was very good. Great looking movie, well acted and all that stuff. Just don't expect any action.

The Limits of Control, I'm a great admirer of Jim Jarmusch's films, but this has to be my least favourite of his work. Its very thoughtful and would have to think a lot, but overall it was Tedious and much to do about nothing. 5/10

Don't Look In The Basement. A 1973 borefest that sent me to sleep, but not before somehow making it through one hour of A* shite.

Watched Dredd... was bloody excellent! Has a really old school action movie feel to it, you know, from back when the movies were simple.

Saw The Last Stand at the cinema on Friday, really enjoyed it. Great to have Arnie back on the big screen. I'd give it a very solid 7.5 / 10.
