...go into an arcade, say when you were on holiday like in my situation, and walk around the place and just watch people playing games? I used to save myself loads of money doing this and I still had a wonderful time watching people play Street Fighter 2 or Mortal Kombat or whatever else.

I definitely did that, too. Still, not to pad myself on the back here or anything... after people were done playing a certain game I was smart enough to check if they accidently left coins in the coin return-slit or if they still had a credit for that particular game which they failed to notice...

I used to do this quite a bit, I was always jealous of the kids that had the money to sit and play games like Crusin' USA and the motor cycle games just because you got to sit inside something and play instead of standing at an arcade, I remember a few awesome space themed ones as well where it was like sitting in a spaceship like flight simulator.

Yeah... the "Cruisn"-games were pimp. I also liked the "Time Crisis"- and pinball-machines...
EDIT: Memories, memories...

Most of the time it was because the lines were so long.
I remember seeing these glitches. It wasn't until I recently saw them on youtube that I knew what it was.

That's ultimately how I learned what to do and how to play those arcade games.

Almost too often. I was crap at games like SFII and MK, so I got a lot more enjoyment out of watching someone else get battered by the 'resident pro' who'd be on the machine all day essentially getting everyone else to pay for his time in the arcade.

Star Wars Arcade was my old favourite back in the late 90s.

Yeah, i did the same. But when they failed, i'd jump in and rock that stuff, making myself look like Zed. But if i ever failed i would most likely flip the games cabinet shouting Zardoz
