I can't buy this new look at all. Looks like bloody Batman suit with a Judge Dredd kind of helmet. Honestly, this film will bomb, I wish they'd stop remaking stuff and totally shitting on the original material.

His gun looks pretty shite too. The original one is iconic and badass (both suit and gun) this is just meh.

This looks fucking ridiculous.
Did Robocop even need to be remade? The original is a classic.

I agree. I read that they were also gonna remake Commando. The remakes are gonna suck, and will also bomb at the box office. These movie studio executives are morons. But I'm not surprised. These are the same guys that keep investing 40 million dollars in Nic Cage movies that spend 1 day at the theater then go straight to DVD the following week. They will never learn.

It's all about the money nothing else. Who the fuck wants to see remakes to begin with? About 95% of what is coming out from Hollywood appears to be remakes, rehashes of older ideas, or a sequel/prequel to something that is at least 10+ years old. What did it for me recently was another remake of Scarface. Like we don't already have enough of those rappers running around glorifying the movie, I can already see that one being butchered. The new robocop suit just looks too "sexy" for me. He don't even look like a machine, but I guess at least it's not Batman Forever and Batman and Robin style suits, lord have mercy.

eighties nostalgia is a big thing at the moment, so anything that made it big from that era is going to get rebooted into the new millennium. It's going to get played out till people get sick of it all and stop buying into it all. Expect a few more films to be remade. Luckily there are ones that haven't been touched, or have had something worthwhile added to the franchise rather than doing a full remake of a film. But, if a film production company thinks they can make money off it, then they will try to remake whatever they can. Robocop just happened to be the last thing that got in the way

I won't be buying this. Not even for a dollar. Haha well said. Certain films don't need re-doing. Certain people think "Oooo it needs bring into modern times". No it doesn't, what does time settings have to do with anything, in film, music, fashion, whatever. If it's good and speaks to people it will last and stand the test of time. Like mentioned before, it's all about the money men. Saying that, they thought Judge Dredd needed the same treatment and look at that, it's not even made half of its money back which I laugh at because hopefully, just hopefully some of the money men will think "Gee, maybe people really are sick to death of us cashing in on a name". Rant over.

It's all about the money nothing else. No doubt. The point that I was trying to make was that many of these remakes have been bombing at the box office lately (Conan, and Total Recall). Hopefully they will smarten up and stop with the remakes.

Hopefully they will smarten up and stop with the remakes. Well, like oceanmachine spoke, people look back and say "Gee I loved the 80's" and that stuff is being rebooted and made popular. It's not just movies, you still have things getting popular in the music world again, just for instance all the "rick roll" and the return of the heavy synth music, even those hair metal bands from the 80's are making big comebacks. The thing is, I don't want another Indiana Jones movie, or John McClane, or Robocop or another remake of Scarface for fucks sake. They are bombing in the box office and that's for the better. The entire message in those remakes is basically "Forget what you loved, we can make it shiner and more sexier now".

The thing is, I don't want another Indiana Jones movie, or John McClane, or Robocop or another remake of Scarface for fucks sake. It's unbelievable how bad the new Indiana Jones movie was. One of the worst movies of the decade. I'm not a big Spielberg fan, but I didn't think he would ever make a movie that bad. I think the reason they are bombing is because 80's action movie fans are a niche fanbase. The fans of the originals aren't gonna go see the remakes. And people who are not fans of the originals are not gonna be interested because they didn't like the originals to begin with. And on top of that, the remakes just suck because everyone involved with making them are hacks who have no idea what they are doing. I will continue to root for them to bomb at the box office. For the reasons I mentioned, I expect them to continue bombing. And eventually they will stop since it's all about money and they aren't making any.
