I salute you, sir! You also like the other two AvP-games? I bought the 2010 (I think?) game and it was ok until they weakened the preds weapons. My main gripe was that it was so dark you just couldn't play as a marine! What did you think of it?

Basically, I share your opinion. Being a big Predator-fan, the changes they made to the Predator-gameplay stood out as most significant to me. Discounting the wrist blades, they basically made all the Predator's weapons secondary ones, so that there is a greater emphasis on melee combat when playing as a Pred. Still, I like the animations of the trophy kills and the fact that you can 'distract' unwary marines... pretty cool feature IMO. On the downside, what really pisses me off sometimes is the fact that the cloak turns itself off way too often... even if you just press a button to activate an elevator, for example...
And yeah... the Marine campaign was way too dark at times... the Alien campaign was business as usual, in my opinion.
Still, all in all I like the game, though. Not as good as AvP2, but certainly better than AvP1/Gold (which I also like, don't get me wrong here).

Over the last few days Ive been playing the Arcade Aliens Vs Predator game where you can choose between two Predators and Two Humans (one of which is basically Arnie's character) Its a huge coin eater though.

Yup, I know this one. Always preferred the Preds to the humans, though. (Well, no suprise here, yes?) But seriously, you got the arcade machine at home or what???

Emulator site. Which has basically everything for everything up to Playstation (Though it has Nintendo 64). Has a bunch of MAME ones which they have just added which the Alien Vs Predator one falls under, BUT it doesn't get released to the public until December. Till then its in BETA stage. Clicky for the SNES Alien Vs PredatorWhich is almost as good... though fucking hard!

My advice, USE THE SLIDE ATTACK! Seriously the game makes you spam the hell out of it to survive.

Yeah... I think that goes for the arcade version as well, as far as I can remember (haven't played that one in a while).

The arcade version is easier but its more about flowing your combos

Admittedly... I never played the SNES-version... but I will give it a try... combos... hmm... so it is "AvP meets Mortal Kombat"

lol, Its basically a three button Arcade game, special, jump, and hit. You just need to use the hit button at the right moments in the right directions then a couple of specials.
The SNES game just throws fucking everything and the kitchen sink at you. The facehuggers are a huge pain in the arse.

Facehuggers are a pain in EVERY game they're in... take, for example, AvP 1 and 2... even if your health is at 100%, if one of those little bastards gets ya, you're toast...

I remember the Alien Trilogy on PS1 and youd be running around like "oh shit oh shit oh shit" waiting for an alien to pop out from somewhere and then a face hugger would get you and cover up the screen so you couldnt see shit and then I was all "Oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck!" I didnt think they were that bad in the new AvP though, I cant remember ever having an issue with them. Keen for the new one though.

The thing with the new AvP-game and facehuggers is this: When they try to... well... hug you, you still survive provided you got a certain amount of health left... not so in AvP1/Gold/2... truly... I'd rather take on a Queen or a bunch of Preatorians (I'm dead serious on this)... I hate these little fucks...
