Can be for whatever reason, whether it was the music, the atmosphere, the look, the memories of the day, anything that makes them your personal 3 favourite gigs. Mine: 1 - Manic Street Preachers, Dec 2004, MEN Arena. Was my first time seeing them live so I was very excited. I went with my girlfriend, my brother and his girlfiend. It was a cold December day and me and my girlfriend glammed up in early Manics style and just singing along to every song was amazing. I blew my voice out from singing. 2 - Oasis, June 2005, City of Manchester stadium. First time seeing Oasis live, first time seeing a gig with that amount of people in a venue and it was also filmed live for TV broadcast and on DVD (can just about see me at the front). 3 - Supergrass, October 2008, Forum Theatre, Melbourne. First time of seeing a gig abroad so when I read Supergrass were playing in Melbourne I made sure I saw them and I took a friend along and he loved it too. I also remember shouting out to the singer "Gaz I love your tash!" and he replied "Really? I was thinking of shaving it off!" haha.

In no particular order: - Foo Fighters, Dec 2005, Earl's Court: First gig I went to; quite an experience. Waking up with such a massive headache was, for the first time, a good thing.
- Oasis, July 2009, Wembley Stadium: Got lucky here, seeing as they split only one month later. Being part of the crowd carrying Wonderwall after the sound fucked up? Priceless.
- Kasabian, Dec 2011, The O2 Arena: They always finish with LSF, and everyone continues singing it on the way out. In this case, all the way back to the station.

Bruce Springsteen, 2012, Manchester City football stadium - the sixth show I'd been to, something was just magic about this show. Possibly because it's on the back of the strongest album he's released in years...possibly because, although Clarence Clemons' presence was very much missed, the tribute to him during Tenth Avenue Freeze Out was beautiful, possibly because there were no dickheads in the crowd, possibly because HE PLAYED THUNDER ROAD MY FAVOURITE SONG IN THE WORLD EVER. I would've chosen the Hyde Park show instead, with the guest appearances from Tom Morello and Paul McCartney, but (1) I was in a really bad position and could barely see Bruce at the mic, never mind the whole stage and (2) they cut the power off before he could do Tenth Avenue Freeze Out with the Clarence tribute.
Bob Dylan, MEN Arena, October 2011 - because it's Bob fucking Dylan. Also, his support act just happened to be Mark Knopfler. Practically a dream gig line-up for me. The final encore was Like A Rolling Stone, and I ended up phoning my dad so he could hear it for a while (he got me into Dylan when I was young, he couldn't make it to the show because of work). I also started a tradition of getting him a t-shirt from every show I went to from then onwards as well).
Richard Thompson, Beautiful Days Festival 2012 - I was a few steps from the front, dead centre for this show. I was so close, if I'd sneezed he would've caught my cold. The only thing better than listening to some Thompson is seeing him live and watching his hands fly across the fretboard, the guy is a hell of a guitarist and an even better songwriter. I have a video of the full 1952 Vincent Black Lightning solo on my phone.
Honorary mention goes to The Levellers, every year I've been to Beautiful Days Festival - I'm not a huge fan of them (I don't own any of their albums), but (1) they put on an amazing festival and (2) when they go onstage (they always headline the final night) I head up to one of the tea tents and listen from the hill. It's such a serene ending and a wonderful atmosphere, sat drinking tea, ending the festival listening to What A Beautiful Day (they ALWAYS end the festival with that song) and watching the final fireworks display.
