Whats everyone's thoughts on the band?
This has been coming up for me alot over the last week with everyone I've talked to hating them (shocking I know). But today I had the best thing to wake up to...

Funny because just a few minutes ago I was listening to some of the Queen tribute show after Freddie had died, songs with Elton John and George Michael. I like Queen, always have done. I can only think the reason people may seem to dislike them or even hate them is the stereotypical Queen look and that's just Freddie in his white top with his tache. It does kind of bug me a tad when you see tribute acts or whatever and it's always this look. Guess it makes him the ultimate bad guy in Shitcase terms? I own their greatest hits on CD, nothing more but I do respect their place in music history.

I only own the greatest hits boxset of I, II, III. I think Mercury is a musical genius and I would have loved to have seen where he would have gone with the times.

I grew up listening to Queen as they're my Dad's favourite band so I certianly love the music. I must say though that I'm not a huge fan of their albums post 70's, ( I can still sing along with nearly all the songs on the later albums though). For me the best queen years were the early 70's Queen I, Queen II and Sheer Heart Attack with Queen II being one of my all time favourite albums.

Got the same box set as The Jester... so, while Queen is not my favorite band ever... I like listening to them once in a while...

As amazing as Freddie obviously was, you can't look away from how good of a songwriter Brian May is. The man has written some of the catchiest guitar lines EVER.

Brian May is a brilliant and often overlooked guitarist, there is no denying that. Brain May's sound is incredibly distinct and I cant think of anyone close to replicating it.

There's a pretty cool video of Brian demonstrating his tone to a reporter, and he just cranks the guitar and flies into the Bohemian solo, leaving the anchor with a huge smile on his face. It's pretty neat.
