I'm going to throw The Wicker Man in here too. By far, Christopher Lees best horror genre performance, and really is something different from the norm. Surprised nobody has given it a tip of the hat yet

I assume you are talking about the original Wicker Man. Not the Nic Cage one.

I haven't seen, nor will I ever see the remake. Not without having someone responsible for that thing on hand, to slap constantly through the movie

The original night of the Living dead, critters, the black and white version of little shop of horrors, the shining, pet cemetary, cujo, monkey shines, and most early stephen king movies. anything before dreamcater, and I would love to see the Dark tower books made into movies or at least a mini series. Oh, forget about the langoliers though.. that movie blew.. though balkey was entertaining.

Hellraiser, Scream (More of a thriller I know but this is my list so fuck you!), Slither, Dog Soldiers, Cabin in the Woods, Trick R Treat and about a thousand others.

The Shining The Thing Alien Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me (It's not usually classified as a horror film because of the series but I still think of it as horror) Eraserhead The Omen
There are a lot more but I can't think of them at the moment.
Also, when it comes to zombie films, I agree that most tend to be the same. The two that have stuck out to me as being different from most are 28 Days Later and Pontypool (highly underrated, Pontypool is).

Figured I'd post this since Halloween is approaching and if there are any fans of either character.

Scenes that freaked me out when I was young- Hellraiser- The entire opening scene where Frank gets torn apart by the box and we see the room suddenly filled with chains and pieces of Frank all over the place freaked me out. Especially how we see Frank's face get pieced back together on the floor. A very gory as well as eerie opening. I especially like the way how when Pinhead picks up the box and resets it, the entire room goes back to normal, as if nothing had ever happened... . Also the baby crying in Kirsty's dream and the tunnel when she encounters the engineer creeps me out.
Hellbound:Hellraiser II- The scene at the beginning where we see Elliot Spencer transformed into Pinhead. The fact that in between the shots of him grimacing in pain and the grid getting carved into his head and the pins being jammed into his skull, we see close ups of his mouth in which he is actually grinning, and the more violent the process is the more he seems to enjoy it. . Another scene would be the razor scene with the crazy guy on the mattress. It still makes we cringe when he cuts himself and screams " get them off me!". The scene goes on for a very long time in the unrated version, I was almost glad when the skinless Julia comes out of the mattress and kills him. . The scenes that take place in Hell in which we see a doll of a baby sewing its lips shut and a clown juggling its own eyeballs. Creepy.
The Thing- The dog transformation scene. Awesome yet repulsive at the same time.
Alien- Brett's death. The atmosphere really helps here. The cat definitely adds to the suspense of the scene as well. Dallas's death is also kind of scary as well as it is kind of a shock moment when it happens.

My mate saw that on LSD when he went to a friends house, not knowing what he was watching. He can't even look at a Hellraiser poster rolled up now. I used to have the French promo poster for Hellraiser2 and I had to move it off the stairs where it was rolled up and just laying, because it would freak him out. The bit where the patient starts slashing himself does get me a bit. Stuff like razor cutting flesh and finger nails being bent back always get to me

Not to nitpick, but Tremors is a comedy and Aliens is an action film
