Evil Dead-8/10 Evil Dead II-7/10 - The first film just did it better. Basically take the first and throw in a bunch of wacky cheesy humor and this is what you get. Loved the monster at the end though and the time warp thing. I like Army of Darkness (Evil Dead 3). The directors cut version with the ending where Ash oversleeps and wakes up in the post apocalyptic future. They could have made a good sequel with that ending. The theatrical release ending is stupid. I've heard a lot of people say the opposite.

I attempted to watch Iron Sky. I went into it with low expectations, and it even beat those. It's like a parody of a movie parody. Like the person who wrote it got their source material from the Cinnemax soft-core T&A movies and whatever they could dig out of the Wayan's Brother's garbage the night before the trash collectors come.
They even spoofed the Hitler scene in Downfall that everyone does with the subtitles. Only made it really sucky.

Looper - a very well made Sci-Fi Action thriller, with thought provoking mystery, exciting old fashion like action, cool sound effects and good performances from Joseph Godon-Levitt, Bruce Willis and Emily Blunt. 9/10
Also
Ringu - The Japanese Horror film thats had a huge influence on other films in the late 90s until now. Incredibly riveting and and terrifying at times, espcially that last scene with the TV. 8/10

The theatrical release ending is stupid. I've heard a lot of people say the opposite. Opposite of what? Which ending to Army of Darkness is better or me liking the movie better than Evil Dead 2? I know that everyone likes Evil Dead 2 better. As for the ending of Army of Darkness, I don't like the happy ending in the theatrical version. The studio forced that on the director. The unhappy ending fits better. Ash is an asshole throughout the entire movie, so he kind of deserved it.

Lots of people seemed to prefer the ending because Ash kicks ass in it. Seems to fit more for me.

I saw Thinner and Pet Sematary these past couple of days on AMC. Both I had seen before and both for the first time on AMC around this time. Thinner is alright Pet Sematary is one of my favorite horror movies love Fred Gwynne as Jud and his accent. Saw a little bit of the beginning of the sequel to Pet Sematary mainly because I noticed the actor who plays John Connor in T2 is in but didn't see much.

Lawless - Excellent new take on the Gangster genre, I for one loved it, It was amazingly shot and the acting talents were top notch. I do tink that it could have been a lot better if it were to be a superb film. Me saying it is definitly watchable check it out if you like gritty crime and period gangster films especially from the prohibition. Now I really need to read the bbook its based on.

I watched Thinner again the other week, it's alright like you say. Pet Semetary is a cool horror film. I watched The Thing prequel last night, it's better than I what I remember from the cinema, the ending wasn't as crap as my memory of it. Some of the CGI wasn't the best but overall it's a good flick and slots nicely into Carpenter's movie. 6 / 10.

I watched 21 Jump Street over the weekend. I wasn't expecting much, but wound up laughing my ass off throughout. It was actually funny, and in the places they meant for it to be funny.

The last movie I watched was "Night of the Demons" (1988). I own it and decided to show it to my wife, which turned out to be a poor decision because she complained the whole time about how dumb it was. So I brought up that she likes the Twilight movies which are total shit and she makes me watch those with her. It ended with me tombstone piledriving her off the top of the stairs.

Killing Them Softly, a serious crime film with a serious message on econiomic instability. Features a solid masculine cast, Brad Pitt, Scoot McNairy, Ben Mendelsohn, James Gandolfini, Ray Liotta and Sam Shepard. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but its highly recomended! very well done.
